Numbers below are starting points to test, not proven benchmarks.
1. Score every signal
Score = signal strength + ICP fit + freshness. Contact the highest scores first.
Signal strength (0 to 5)
| Signal | Points |
|---|---|
| Wrote a post about the problem you solve | 5 |
| Commented on a competitor's post | 4 |
| Commented on a post about your topic | 4 |
| Engaged with your own post or company page | 4 |
| Liked a competitor's post | 3 |
| Liked a post about your topic | 2 |
| Liked a general creator post | 1 |
Comments beat likes. Several signals from one person in a week = add 2.
ICP fit (0 to 5)
- Job title matches buyer role: +2
- Company size in range: +1
- Industry in range: +1
- Location in range: +1
Freshness
- Under 7 days: +2
- 7 to 30 days: 0
- Over 30 days: do not use as the hook
Action by score
- 10 and above: personal message today
- 6 to 9: automated sequence
- Under 6: nurture only (content, retargeting), no direct outreach
2. Filter before you spend
- Apply ICP filters in Cornersight first (title, company size, industry).
- On keyword searches, use AI filtering to drop noisy posts (for example: "only posts about outbound, not job announcements"). It filters posts, not people, and uses your own AI key. Filter people with the ICP filters in step 1.
- Only enrich (look up emails) for people who pass. Enrichment costs money; filtering is free.
- Remove existing customers and open deals before outreach.
- Remove anyone contacted in the last 90 days.
3. What to track
- Who, what signal, when, which campaign. One row per person.
- Reply rate by signal type. Drop signal types that do not get replies.
- Meetings booked by signal type, not only replies.
- Tag every link with UTM parameters so signups can be traced to the play.
4. Deliverability basics (email)
- Send from secondary domains, never your main domain.
- Warm up new inboxes before sending campaigns.
- Keep daily volume per inbox low. Check your sending tool's guidance.
- Plain text, no images, one link at most in the first email.
- Verify emails before sending. Remove bounces at once.
5. LinkedIn basics
- No LinkedIn account required to capture engagement.
- Your outreach tool does use your account. Respect its limits on daily invites and messages.
- Do not run invites, DMs and comments from one account at the same time as a new campaign. Ramp up slowly on new or unused accounts.
- Personalised connection notes beat blank invites for cold prospects. Test both.
6. Weekly routine (1 hour)
- Monday: review last week's reply rate by signal type.
- Monday: refresh keywords and tracked creators. Drop ones that bring no ICP matches.
- Daily: work score 10+ signals by hand.
- Friday: check meetings booked and update the scoring weights.
